Ran Andrews is a Canadian contemporary visual artist born in Stratford Ontario, July 14, 1956. His bold, colourful expressionistic style has propelled his popular rise to the top tiers of internationally exhibiting painters.

Since the new millenium Ran has concentrated on the production of pop funky fine art from his studio in St. John's Newfoundland. His work can be currently found in corporate, institutional and private collections in over 17 countries worldwide.

Mr. Andrews is well known at the premiere galleries and major exhibitions of contemporary art in Europe; such as the prestigious Annual Batik Show in Barcelona, the Bienalle’s di Venezia  & Firenze, The Camden and Saatchi Galleries in London,  III Millennio and The 2008 Carnavale in Venice.

Advertising
In the 1980’s Ran was a managing partner of Ideas and Solutions a full service boutique advertising agency in Detroit, Michgan. Over a four year involvment he worked on numerous accounts in the eighth largest market in the United States.

Graphic Art, Media Production and Book Design
Over the years, numerous freelance art direction and video production ventures have come and gone including news production, music video, magazine layout and design, posters, cd covers and media packaging.

Ran held the position of design and production coordinator for Breakwater Books, where he was responsible for all trade and educational books and promotional materials. His work can be seen on the shelves of better bookstores worldwide and includes: Liar (cover) by Joanna Gosse; The Wide World Dreaming by JoAnne Soper Cook; The Viking Discovery of America by Helge and Anne Stine Ingstad; Flashes From The Past by Frank Kennedy and Death By Chocolate by Ross A. Klein.

New Media
An acknowledged pioneer of internet streaming video Ran participated in some of the first live webcasts, Ran was best known as the creator and designer of informatron.com. The Mighty Informatron was a scheduled four year independent new media project. The site drew in excess of 3.5 million visitors and was honoured to have been nominated in the prestigious 'most entertaining' website category of the Streamers 99 Award for Excellence in Streaming Media.

Independent Media
For three years Ran worked with Troma Entertainment, (the oldest independent film studio in the world and home of the world famous Toxic Avenger ) to provide new media, and characters and content as a partner in the now sadly ended Tromaville.com the virtual city of cutting edge independent media. Mineral Exploration
What? Really? Yes . . . Ran was a professional prospector and developer of mineral properties . . . he specialized in gems.
